Who this applies to
Yesterday's News UK is a content-production project that uses Google OAuth to connect the operator's own YouTube account to an automated video uploader. This website is informational and does not offer visitor account registration.
Google data we access
When the operator authorises the app, Google provides credentials that enable the app to upload videos to the authorised YouTube channel. The app uses the permission solely to upload and manage the submission of videos created by Yesterday's News UK. It does not use that access to read Gmail, contacts, or Google Drive.
How credentials are handled
The operator stores the YouTube OAuth refresh token in GitHub Actions encrypted secrets for use by the scheduled uploader. Short-lived access tokens are obtained as needed. Credentials are not displayed on this website, sold, or shared with advertisers. GitHub and Google process information as service providers according to their own terms.
Content and retention
Generated videos and production metadata may be stored temporarily in the project workflow and its build artifacts. Uploaded videos and associated information are stored by YouTube according to the channel's settings and Google's policies. Authorisation can be revoked through the Google account's third-party connections settings. The operator can delete stored credentials and channel videos.
Website visitors
This static website has no registration, advertising cookies, or contact forms. The hosting provider may collect standard technical access logs, such as IP addresses, to serve and secure the site. We do not use those logs to build visitor profiles.
Sharing and security
Google account credentials are used only for the YouTube publishing function. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or give it to unrelated third parties. Access is restricted to the operator and the services necessary to run the upload workflow.
